Nobody Puts Bloggers in a Corner

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/Once upon a time, a woman began a blog; she had no idea what she was doing, but that had never stopped her before. Almost four years passed and she found blogging was just like life, only with fewer calories and even more emails.

1. Life and blogging are about choices. Good? Bad? Who knows, until you make them.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

2. If you want chocolate, bacon, butter, donuts, cookies, cake https://yadadarcyyada.com/2016/09/16/you-had-me-at-cake/ – go for it, but like in blogging, only so much before the clogging… https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/11/07/can-you-feel-the-blog-love-tonight/

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

3. The truth is always out there, whether it comes out or not, you’ll always know it can come out.

4. If you’re going to worry, make it worthwhile. On your deathbed I doubt you’ll be stressing out about if your toes look good in sandals, if you have the biggest house, fanciest car, most jewelry, and who you knew… https://yadadarcyyada.com/2016/05/25/crapathy/

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

5. You’re not the only one. Find someone who also thinks they’re the only one – you might help each other.

6. Having a love affair with cake and cookies can be epic, like, movie epic. Then again, Titanic and Romeo and Juliet…Balance in all things.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

7. Laundry is evil and like all evil it grows if you ignore it…even to blog.

love47

8. Be selective how you’re giving your time, it’s the one thing you’ll never get back.

9. Let your imagination run away with you sometimes.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

 10. Be a superhero. You don’t need fancy gadgets like Batman, alien powers like Superman, Amazon (ish?) powers like Wonder Woman. No cool suits like Iron Man, Deadpool, or Spiderman…Nope. You just need to care. Be a friend. Be there. Help someone. In the blogworld, ‘Like’ their post. Share their post. Blogging is strange when you’re a stranger…get out there and show some #bloglove https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/Saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (awesome, but I wasn’t as hooked on the soundtrack as the first one…I am Groot) – it made me want to run out and help the world. Had to rewatch Guardians of the Galaxy https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/04/10/im-hooked-on-a-feeling/ because, hey, Chris Pratt.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

11. There’s enough hard stuff in the world and the blogworld, don’t add to it.

12. The worst crime that I ever did, besides listening to rock’n’roll (paraphrasing The Stranglers, with a giggle), was telling myself I wasn’t good enough; if I didn’t believe it, why the Hell else would anyone else?

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

13. People always say “quit whining”…why? Sometimes, in the midst of a good whine sometimes comes a flash of insight, a bolt of wisdom, a bombshell of brilliant. Again, moderation.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

14. If you’re good at something, learn how to be good at it for others too. Have the Time of Your Life. I watched the TV version of Dirty Dancing…made me miss Patrick Swayzeand Jennifer Grey’s nose. Nobody puts bloggers in a corner! https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/09/05/ive-had-the-time-of-my-life/

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

15. Life goes around and around. Watching Twin Peaks: The Return – just as weird, but sadly, less playful https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/08/02/never-tear-us-apart/ –  I’m reminded, you always look back through different eyes. My blog has something to tell you – when you get there, you’ll already be there.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

16. You can lead a good life without TV, you can also lead a good life with TV – life doesn’t have to be back and white (TV taught me that).

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

17. Despite what you may have heard, ‘Grease’ is not the word, but neither are: ‘low-rise’, ‘low-carb’, ‘SEO’, ‘dirt jeans’, ‘alternative facts’, ‘influencer’…

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

18. Don’t be a wrecking ball (also don’t swing on one naked, you don’t want to become a meme, right Miley Cyrus? https://yadadarcyyada.com/2013/08/27/blurred-miley-lines/ ). Try to leave things as good or better than you found them.

19. Watched Girlboss on Netflix, different, in a good way. Britt Robertson (Under The Dome, Life Unexpected, A Dog’s Purpose, etc.), plays charmingly frenetic Sophia. Produced by Charlize Theron https://yadadarcyyada.com/2014/06/06/1-2-a-million-ways-to-die-in-the-west/  – based on an autobiography of Sophia Amoruso, an American businesswoman, who at 23 started an eBay store, Nasty Girl Vintage, which became multi-million dollar Nasty Girl. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/Also, Dean Norris (Breaking Bad https://yadadarcyyada.com/2013/09/25/faux-ode-to-breaking-bad/ Under The Dome, X-Files https://yadadarcyyada.com/2013/08/20/the-truth-is-still-out-there/  https://yadadarcyyada.com/2016/01/15/5-ways-im-not-under-pressure/ 24, Grey’s Anatomy https://yadadarcyyada.com/2013/10/19/greys-anatomy/ The Big Bang Theory – everything, does this man sleep?), Norm McDonald (SNL)… Reminded me of an important life/blog lesson, a lot of things can go wrong before, during, and after they go right. I loved how the two friends always said, “Love you, in case I die” to each other, negating that terrible thought, the regret, that if you lost someone they might not know you love them.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

20. Gratitude is often misunderstood, you can be poor, sick, longing, grieving, hurting, waiting, low blog stats, and still be grateful. Be grateful.  https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/11/17/10-ways-to-be-grateful-even-on-bad-days/

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/

I probably won’t be blogging much this summer, so Happy Birthday Canada https://yadadarcyyada.com/2014/07/01/happy-canada-day-eh/    https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/04/28/well-cream-you-with-our-tim-hortons-donuts-you-hosers/ and America https://yadadarcyyada.com/2014/07/04/happy-4th-of-july/

I’ll be here and there, dear readers…and love you, in case I die.

    1. Not planning on it, then again… 😉
It actually kinda wrote itself… lol
Cheers and to many more years!
Hope this weekend treats you well.

  1. What a fun, WISE, and witty post for this Friday morning before the weekend begins. I love how you lead to a message with the fun videos and asides and…advice. THANK YOU. I hope you don’t go away totally for the summer. We bloggers need you! xoxo

    1. Thank you kindly. 🙂
I’ll be hanging around, but I’m doubling down on writing my book and spending time with family, but blogging has a lure.
Hope this weekend is good to you. xoxo

      1. Yes, I get it. I need to ‘schedule’ in the writing of my next book, or it will never happen. Let’s hope summer is serene and quiet and our books are written!! 🙂

      2. That sounds like a delightful summer!
All the best with your book. 🙂
Big book (why don’t they write and edit themselves?) hugs xo

    1. Thank you, thank you, thank you, I cannot thank you enough for all this #bloglove
Hope this weekend treats you kindly and all the best, always. xoxo

  2. Reblogged this on Smorgasbord – Variety is the spice of life and commented:
Nobody puts this creative blogger in a corner for sure. Talking about Donna Parker with one of her posts that is crafted to engage everyone whatever your choice in film, tv or music might be and delivers a message that puts our various maladies into perspective. So if you like Dirty Dancing, Breaking Bad, Grey’s Anatomy or even men dressed as green elves head over and share.. Donna is gathering herself for a summer of family and writing and wants to make sure we know that she still loves us. As always an entertaining and must read post. Fun, fun and more fun.

    1. Thank you so much, dear Sally for not only the lovely reblog (words can not express my gratitude enough), but your awesome write-up about the post. Thank you for sharing the #bloglove
I hope you have a weekend as wonderful as you (not possible, but we can hope). 🙂
      Best wishes, always. xoxo

  3. I liked Girl Boss but it was a frustrating example of white woman privilege. She got away with so much crap… that if she were male or of a different race she would have been… anyway. It was fun at times. But I liked the other characters more than the main Girl “Boss”. But anyway… Nobody puts Girl Boss in a corner.

    1. She was intriguing, I wish they had explored her ADHD a bit more, it would have made her behaviour a tad more understandable.
Thanks for dropping by, Mel, hope this weekend treats you well. 🙂

    2. I’m enjoying the show too, but it is hard to believe (even as a white woman) the character was able to get away with as much as she did. I mean I know I can get away with some things, but walking off with a full sized rug in full view of the sales clerk? It’s enough to make me wonder if I haven’t taken near enough advantage of my privilege.

  4. I’m with you, the 2nd Guardians soundtrack wasn’t near as good as the first! And, I only have internet TV, so I had no idea they were doing a TV version of Dirty Dancing until my Twitter feed lit up with that hashtag… and after reading the tweets, I’m so glad I didn’t know about it and wasn’t tempted to watch it!! Have a great summer! Enjoy your life and writing the book!

    1. With the exception of ‘Surrender’ by Cheap Trick and I wish I could get ‘Brandy’ out of my head. lol 😉
I think in some cases they should just stick with the original.
Thank you and hope you have a weekend as wonderful as you, dear Kate (not possible, but it’s always good to hope). 🙂 xoxo

  5. Please take care this summer and stay well. Wonderful post that must have taken an enormous amount of time to complete. Well done! Best wishes! 🤗😘

    1. Thank you kindly and you as well. Hope your summer is wonder-filled!
It surprisingly wrote itself (if only books would do the same, oh and edit themselves too). 😉
      Best wishes!

  6. I watched Nasty Girl movie last month. It was inspiring. Grease isn’t the word? Hmm, I have to rethink my crossword skills. I was sure grease would fit every square.

    1. It does have groove and meaning, I mean, it’s the time and the place and the motion and it is the way we’re all feeling. lol 😉
Keep at it, crosswords are allegedly good for us…are you doing them in pencil, pen, online (Grease might be bad for a keyboard). 🙂

      1. 🤔grease on the keyboard, maybe that’s why I keep slipping up on my writing. 😂
Truthfully, I don’t do crosswords, I was just trying to be funny.

  7. I totally love this and I hate to tell you but Twitter says you’re an influencer lol. We all have a place in the blogging world right? No matter how or why you do it, do it your way

    1. Oh no! The horror! lol 😉
Thank you kindly for dropping by, even if you did bring bad news (the influencer part).
You’re so right about our place in the blog world.
Hope this weekend treats you well. 🙂

    1. lol I have no plans to do so, then again, you know what they say about plans. 😉
How are you doing, dear Teagan? You and Crystal are in my thoughts. Big hugs to both and mega fingers crossed and positive vibes hugs too xoxoxo

  8. As usual, Donna, I LOVED this post. Lots of giggling at your words and messages, always upbeat, and the film clips brought back more smiles too. And great advice! Have a great summer, my friend~~

    1. Thank you kindly. I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed it, giggling was the goal. 😉
Thank you so much and I hope your summer is wonder-filled. 🙂

    1. Thank you, thank you so much!!! You are so kind to spread this #bloglove
Thank you for the reblog, I really appreciate it.
Hope this weekend treats you kindly. 🙂

  9. You’re not allowed to die until I’ve been Patrick Swayze to your Jennifer Grey. No–one puts baby in the shade. You’re a dream Donna, all your blogs turn to ‘Blogger’ gold, that is fantastic to look at but useless when exchanging for sweets. You’re an entertainment industry all by yourself.
I love you, Enjoy your Summer and hurry back to your legion of fans.
    xxx Gigantic Hugs xxx

    1. We’d definitely have the time of our lives, but I’m afraid of what that lift would do to your back, dear David lol 😉
You’re to too kind, but please continue. ha.
Love you too and I’ll be around just not likely blogging, but I’ll be sure to drop by and visit everyone. Hope your summer is full of wonder, dear friend.
Massive Blogger is the word, it has groove it has meaning hugs xoxoxo

    1. Thank you kindly, for sharing my link and the lovely words. I can certainly feel the #bloglove today!!! And I’m in such good company, now following all. 🙂
My name is Donna, I blog about life, the universe and everything, with a lot and I do mean a lot of humour. Drop by, stay a spell, you might never want to leave. Here’s my latest, hope it makes you smile, laugh, giggle, spit out your coffee, whatever. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/
Hope this weekend treats you all well and hope to see you soon this is giant virtual haystack.
Thanks for the great party, I’ll drop back later and visit and share some more. xo

  10. If you could look through my monitor as I write my comments after reading your blog posts, you would see that I’m always smiling very hard. No other blog does that to me. Sure I smile at other blogs but yours keep me smiling longest. They always brighten my day. Have a great weekend, Donna.

    1. Awww, you have no idea how happy that makes me. So pleased I can make you smile, which then makes me smile. 🙂
Thank you and hope this weekend treats you kindly. 🙂

    1. Thank you kindly, Mary.
I’ll be lurking around, reading and sharing posts and who knows, if my head gets too full of who knows then who knows what will happen. 😉
Hope this weekend is good to you. 🙂

    1. Yes, it is, especially when you have that brief moment where you think, it’s all done, it’s all done and then you look down and realize, you’re wearing clothes, sigh, clothes that will have to be washed. 😉
Hope this weekend treats you well.

  11. Donna, always get to the bottom of one of your posts and think, how does she do that? Love all of your thoughts and in-betweens. They’re smile-makers! 🎼 Christine

    1. I just move my head around and it all comes tumbling out, or something like that. lol 😉
I’m glad to hear they can bring on smiles. 🙂
Hope this weekend treats you kindly, Christine.

  12. I like the phrase “In case I die.” I think people should embrace the concept and start acting as it is to be true. (Someday it is) Happy weekend. in case I die.

    1. How true, John, and let’s face it, none of us get out of this alive. Enjoy the moment.
Thank you, looks like a good one and hope yours is wonderful. 🙂

  13. I will miss your wit and humour Donna, but I admire you to take the needed time off. I wish I could learn this. And lol, I taped the ‘new’ Dirty Dancing and have yet to watch it. Maybe I will sometime in the next onslaught of rain. Enjoy your summer and do pop in if you need a dose of blogging friends, we’re usually around here somewhere. 🙂 <3

    1. I’m trying to reacquaint myself with ‘pacing’, Debby although we’re more like frenemies than friends. 😉
The new ‘Dirty Dancing’ had it’s moments although for those who want to imagine what happens between Johnny and Baby after, this might spoil that.
Thank you kindly, I hope you have a delight-filled summer as well and I’ll be around, just focusing on a different kind of writing.
Hope this weekend is good to you. xo

      1. Thanks for the heads up in the movie. And I look forward to learning about your ‘different’ writing. Enjoy your time out Donna. 🙂 <3

    1. lol Laundry, the gift that keeps on spinning. 😉
Thank you kindly for the reblog, Jonathan, I appreciate the #bloglove
Hope this week treats you well, with plenty of quarters. 🙂

  14. I hope you’re not about to die. I agree that blogging is strange territory – it may take the place of reading books. Who knows.

    1. Not planning on it, then again, one never knows. 😉
It is interesting, blogging, but so often I feel like in The Godfather Part III, Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! lol 😉
Hope this week treat you well. 🙂

    1. Thank you, I’ll certainly give it my best shot and hope you don’t, die that is, I do hope you have an enjoyable summer. 😉

    1. Thank you so much for sharing my post and including it in such good company.
Hope the week ahead treats you kindly. Thanks again.

  15. Amazingly enough, putting pancakes on anything often results in producing syrup. But…only if made from buttermilk. Try it out…Scientists have often grappled with this phenomenon. Some say, it has to do with some kind of symbiotic relationship.
    Try it.

      1. You are so kind, thank you very much! As we were free yesterday, it feels as if I’ve just started the new week. Tuesday has become Monday….Happy new week 🙂

      2. Don’t you find some weeks are like that, some more than others. I can’t get my head around today is Friday and the other day I wrote the date as 2016 (I wish).
Hope whatever day it feels like today is treating you kindly, Beth. 🙂

  16. Hi dear Donna! I do hope you’ll pop ’round the blog this Summer to say hi if you get the chance! Always sending you big hugs from Chicago my friend! Cher xo

    1. Definitely, dear Cher, I’ll still be lurking about and I can’t resist visiting my amazing blogging family. 🙂
Big hugs from the Great White North which is right now very green. 🙂 xoxox

  17. I don’t know how you do it with your posts! The TV, Music, Movie references and nostalgia and current all work. #8 is my guide for the summer.

    1. lol I just sort of open up my brain and let it spill out, well, some of it. 😉
Me too, me too, #8 all the way!
Hope the summer treats you kindly. 🙂

  18. I enjoyed this a Lot, thanks a million! I must admit in the remake of “Dirty Dancing,” I liked the regular looking Baby who looked as young as she was supposed to be, Donna. I liked the fresh feeling and regular run and jump where you wonder if she may fall off the guy’s hands. . . I liked the interpersonal relationship between the parents, too. 🙂
Anyway, don’t worry, we will hang around, wait for you to come visit and will come back~ always!
I’m usually the delinquent one, last to show up! xo
I was thoroughly amused by your choices of humor. Although it is probably considered creepy, I like Chris Pratt, too. We (grandies and me) liked Baby Groot and some of the Galaxy 2 music but the plot seemed a little more corny than the first one.
Enjoy and never feel guilty! I am working on this myself! 🌈 🐦

    1. It’s so difficult to take on a classic, but in some ways, I agree, they did a good job and I enjoyed the cast a lot, but I did miss Patrick Swayze.
Glad you enjoyed the post and Guardians 2 – sequels are tough, like redos, they have a lot to live up to.
I’m pleased you could drop by, anytime, my blogdoor is always open and I hope you have a wonder-filled, guilt-free summer!!! 🙂

    1. Thank you, thank you, Rob! You’re always so kind, I appreciate it, even if I am uberlate getting here. Weird week but not in a bad way. I won’t bore you with the details, but thank you for the reblog #bloglove
Hope this weekend treats you kindly and thanks again. xoxo

  19. Oh, we will miss your wit and wisdom. I’m glad to hear you will be doing some “lurking”.
Please be careful; we wouldn’t want anything to happen to you.
I immensely enjoy your blogs! (In addition, I’m jealous of the number of followers and comments! But, not in a bad way!)
Have a great and productive summer.
    XOXO <3

    1. I could never stop visiting my awesome blogging family, anyway, what would I do for entertainment – you all bring me such fun!
I plan on having a lovely time and wish the same for you.
Thank you kindly. Big bloggy hugs xoxox

      1. I know we can’t provide (or at least not me, anyway) anywhere near the fun and enjoyment that you do!
        Thank you!
Big hugs, restful days (and nights, especially!) and a wonderful time during your “break”!! XOXO

      2. The thing is, we’re all someone’s cup of tea, we all do things differently, isn’t that the wonder of this world, blogging and otherwise?
Big gentle hugs, rest-filled moments and all the best for the summer! xoxo

    1. It was amazing (we are Groot) – Baby Groot was so cute, of course then came teen Groot. It was so fun to see Kurt Russell, isn’t it cool what they can do with special effects, they did the same in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean, lovely to see young Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow.
Thank you and I hope you have a wonder-filled summer as well, Christy. I’ll try not to die and hope the same for you. 😉 xoxo

    1. We need to get out there and do the blogging lift. lol 😉
I’ll be back and in greater numbers (ok, went full Star Wars there, but you get the point). 🙂
Wishing you a terrific summer. 🙂

  20. Golly, you must take hours to put together a post! Very entertaining. Come and visit my world: Share Your World – From Disney to a new job.

    1. They usually write themselves and the rest, especially the pictures, etc. are fun, I do wish I had more time to do them though.
Thanks for the invite, Shirley, I enjoy dropping by your world, always. Hope this weekend treats you well. xo

  21. What a fun post! Here’s some bloglove for ya! Hope you check out my place in cyberspace, too!

  22. I agree with you about Guardians – fantastic movie, but the sound track was better in the first one. And yes – Chris Pratt!

    1. I know and I had that again this weekend and then, poof, it was gone again. 😉
Thanks for letting us hang around – can’t wait for the next #FridayFrivolity
Hope this week treats you kindly. 🙂

  23. Oh don’t disappear! Or die, please… xxx As ever you are full of wisdom, laughs and personality, Donna – I always love your posts and yes Chris Pratt may have a crap surname but he is super hot!

    1. I’m still here, Marje, and I can already feel the urge to write more posts so I’ll be back soon, certainly by my blog anniversary in August. 🙂
Thank you kindly and yes, Chris Pratt is lovely, nothing better than funny and cute. 😉
Hope this week is treating you well so far. 🙂

    1. Thank you kindly, hope to have more time this week to visit at #FridayFrivolity – it’s awesome!
Thank you and hope this week is treating you well, Lisa. 🙂

  24. Be good be happy and if you can’t be both be careful and happy. After all what is love without a donna to gif us a meme. By the time you blog again you’ll probably be a thing

    1. Thank you kindly and I hope you have a great summer. I’m sure I’ll be back sooner rather than later, certainly by my blog anniversary in August. 🙂
Hope this week treats you well. 🙂

  25. Happy summer to you (and early happy Canada Day!) I do enjoy your posts – even though I’m not around as much in blogland, I do try and visit when I can 🙂

    1. Thank you kindly, Helen – yes, it’s Canada’s 150th birthday (just a baby compared to many countries, but a happy baby). 🙂
Always appreciate you dropping by and hope this week is treating you well. 🙂

      1. It’s treating me pretty well – hope it’s the same where you are. And 150 years, eh? Not too bad – hope the party’s a good one! xx

      2. It’s pretty good so far – almost school holidays and the seaside beckons… Hope you enjoyed the Canada 150 celebrations!

    1. Sometimes we just need a break and summertime when most are busy ding other things seemed like as good a time as any. It’s been great so far. Hoe your summer is going well, dear Janice, I’ll be back soon. 🙂
Hope this weekend is treating you kindly. 🙂

    1. Thanks.
I know and it’s not like they didn’t have a lot of great songs to chose from, Weird.
Hope this weekend treats you kindly. 🙂

    1. Thank you kindly.
I wish they’d leave the classics and give us some different stuff. 😉
Hope this summer is treating you well. 🙂

    1. Thank you, thank you, thank you, as you can see, I’m far behind, but very happy, this made my day, my week, my month, maybe my year (I sound like a Friends theme, oops). But seriously, this is awesome and wow, I’m in great company!
Thank you and hope this weekend treats you kindly. 🙂 Off to visit and share. 🙂

  26. Visiting your blog is like visiting the bakery: It’s an uplifting experience and you always come away with a treat.

I hope your summer is filled with laughter and warm memories (and productive book writing?).

    1. I love that, sounds like a new tagline lol 😉
My summer has been good so far (Mom Nature could lower the thermostat a tad), hope yours has been grand. 🙂

  27. Amazing posts and even more amazing are the gifs and pictures !!
There’s so much work that you put in this post. Doesn’t seem easy. Kudos to you for that. ♡
