March Madness Spring Fling Blog Party

1funny36

Depending on where you are, this week is:
Spring Break, March Break, March Madness, Spring Equinox, St. Patrick’s Day or maybe it’s just March.

So for our own form of March Madness, a Spring Fling to get us in the mood, let’s have a Blog Party!!!
Please use the comment box below to tell other bloggers about your blog –
don’t forget to include your blog link!
Tell us something about yourself and/or your blog
and share it so other bloggers will find out about you and everyone else!

1blog21bull18

I started this blog for relaxation (although sometimes, especially when WordPress makes changes, relaxation is not the word I use), but now, over 500 posts later, I look at my followers and views with wonder.
As a single mom with Fibromyalgia, raising a child with Autism and other health concerns, relaxation is important because most days I feel like Wile E. Coyote with his tiny umbrella.

I’ve learned a lot, but the best part has been my dear readers.
You make it all worth while.
Finding each other in this giant virtual haystack is astonishing and awesome.
I’d hoped it would also lead to fame and fortune; that part hasn’t panned out, but who knows?
Till then, still broke and just a tad less obscure.1thanks6I’m thankful for all the awards I’ve received, but narrowing down other nominees has become too challenging as I find more and more astonishing bloggers whose insights thrill, stories chill, make me cry, laugh, smile, remember, make me think, wonder, and dream.
I love that you think of me, but my time and energy are limited so I’ll use them by responding to your comments and leaving some on your blogs, Tweeting, Retweeting, and sharing your posts.

I’d like to thank some of my most stalwart supporters, those of you who follow, take the time to press the Like button; who humble me by reblogging; Tweet and Retweet, share on Facebook, Google+, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr and more. I find myself looking forward to your posts, comments, insights, loving your stories, glowing…
I just want to soak them all up.1bean2

As far as the blog my hope is always that I can at least bring a little entertainment and maybe a few laughs to my visitors.

I blog on http://www.tinyexpats.com about expat life with kids, about travelling with and without them, about everyday mom’s issues and just random thoughts.
I’ll be happy to find here new blogs to follow!
I’m also inviting anyone interested to participate in my Show Your World weekly event, writing very short stories about your favourite parts of the world http://tinyexpats.com/category/showyourworld/ 🙂

    1. Cher, so glad you could drop by the party and share your blog. I always look forward to your posts, they can make the sun rise in the morning, make me laugh, remind me of so many things and expose me to things I hadn’t heard of, all from a view of Canadian living in Chicago. 🙂
And you’re always so wonderful and generous with your support of other bloggers.
Thank you for letting others know about your lovely blog.
Hope this day is being kind to you. Big hugs, Donna xo

    1. So glad you could drop by, Tom, although I’m sorry to hear about the weather, it’s windy here, but no snow (fingers crossed).
Not only does your blog give us amazing pictures of your many and magnificent cats, but also has insights, poems and contests (I know, I won a fantastic, high-quality Cats at the Bar T-shirt).
If only I was better at writing a Haiku poem, I would enter Chub-Chub’s latest contest, but I encourage those that can to enter!
Thanks again for swinging by, Tom, hope your snow starts melting, although I will miss the purr-fectly lovely kitty winter photos…I guess I can visit your archives. 🙂

It’s uber-kind of you to mention my blog. Mega-hugs.

  3. Happy St. Paddy’s day everyone! I am Jan and my purpose in blogging is to entertain although every now and then I tell a story or satirize the tax code (something about which unfortunately I know far too much). Thanks so much for this opportunity to share! May the wind always be at your back…(that is an Irish saying, isn’t it?) Oh I’m here http://www.jttwissel.com

    1. If it’s not an Irish saying it should be and very appropriate today as we’re having high winds on St. Patrick’s Day. 😉
I’m so glad you had time to drop by, Jan, your blog should be shared with others, it definitely entertains, tell stories, and gives the tax code a rip or two, but I love it! 🙂
Hope this day is good to you and may the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past! 🙂

My blog is here: http://geletilari.wordpress.com . There is a smattering of poetry there as well as some fiction and a little music, plus some scary thoughts from a person left of center. I hope you will stop by.

The cake is around here somewhere and of course, you know I made cookies. 🙂
I hope people check out your blog, I know I always enjoy a visit, or two, or three or thirty. 🙂

  7. How fun! What is the dress code for this Spring Fling? I hate being under dressed! Lol.
We started our blog as a way to process and cope with a difficult family situation. The situation is still ongoing, but the benefits of the blog have been enormous. We have ‘met’ so many great people, gotten wonderful support, regained a bit of sanity and my husband has gotten back to something he loves, writing!
We are only 2 1/2 months old, so still feeling our way through. We are eager to meet new friends and learn new things, so thank you for hosting this sweet get together!

  8. Ah a party. Can I dance? I’m very good (hmm, well keen) and my cha cha cha is spoken of with admiration as far away as the kitchen. My blog is a vacuum that nature abhors so I have to fill it. Because I’ve seen more years than a warehouse of calendars I often find myself in the middle of a reminiscence, off at a tangent from where I started. However to ensure I avoid any suggestion of ‘old’ I have stopped counting my birth years and stated adding the two numbers together. This year I’m 13 again and it’s really quite fun. If that sounds like your sort of thing then pop over and see if you can make sense of it – I’m sure I can’t. http://geofflepard.com/

    1. You’re more than willing to dance, as long as we can film it… lol
We’re thankful you decided to fill that vacuum and fill it so well.
OK, I love the idea of the adding the two numbers together except when you get to my age, sigh, that doesn’t work either or does it? 😉
I hope everyone takes a trip over to your blog, to see what a wise 13-year-old has to say. 😉
Hope this day treats you kindly. 🙂

  17. Hi! Thanks so much for hosting this shindig. These are always such a great way to unearth new, great pages in the blogosphere. Can’t wait to go through the comments section and check everyone out!

I’m a longtime print journalist turned stay-at-home mom and freelance writer. The tagline for my blog, The Wild Rumpus, sums it up best: “Parenting and family, served with a shot of vodka.”

I write a lot of silliness (ie: 10 Things that Are Less Loud Than My Kids; Having “The Talk” With My 5-year-old). And I also hope to capture the sweet moments — the commonalities that make all parents laugh, cry and burst with pride.

Please stop by and take a look! We serve vodka all day long. There’s no last call at The Wild Rumpus. 🙂

But it’s always the weekend at my site. A place to escape the worlds madness and share a laugh with others and have some fun. Sort of a blog Disneyland. Love your blog Donna. :O)

I would love to tell people about my blog, but that isn’t easy to do. I could ramble on for quite some time and never fully express the weirdness that is my blog… because my blog is me… and I have crack squirrels living in my head… Wait, it does seem to me that I vaguely recall a place where I tried to put into words what my blog and I are all about. Now where was that? Oh yeah… it was on my blog. I have been telling people what my blog is about for like two years, and I’m still not done.

I had a couple of false starts to my blog https://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/ due to work and family commitments but finally got down to it in late 2013. Have not looked back since. I called the blog Smorgasbord, Variety is the Spice of Life because it sums up my life to date and if I am honest I hope always. I love to read, write, listen to music of all styles, travel, cook and bore people to death with healthy living and eating posts.. Of course I love to promote my own books but at the end of the day we are all one community and I consider my blog to be a collaboration with all the great people who pass through in one capacity or another. Here is my blog promo.. I hope you will in and visit. http://youtu.be/3uRuQ6okQ1g

      2. George Adolphus Parker, indeed. I used only the initial after coming to the Southern region of the US. Middle name in late 50s got me nicknamed Adolf and many a row ensued afterwards, especially with a Dutch/German accent in my little English. (Mom’s side of family was responsible for that name, Dad wanted to call me Avery, another name to start fights with)))));<))) Brought to US in 1953, to Mississippi and Alabama. Just where I needed to be, Rednecks who couldn't spell Germany and assumed all were Nazis, but I survived well until now. I figured out quickly, there were always more of them than me and one nose isn't enough to breathe through if you get it pounded too often))))))))))))

Do know that I am on an amazing journey with depression and anxiety, and I’m trying to end the stigma of mental illness one word at a time. As I state on my “About” page: I have been beaten down by outsiders, but I will not be beaten into silence. I will not be ashamed of who I am, and what I think. I have a right to express myself – I’ve come to far along this bumpy road with mental illness to stop now. Sadly, there are those who think perception is more important than expression. As such, I write anonymously.

    1. Glad you could make it to the party so people can discover your blog. I love that you write about love! 😉 I really wouldn’t have known you were a newbie, your posts are Passionately Unpredictable, but quite professional.
Thanks for dropping by, stay a spell, mingle, get some refreshments, hope this day is good to you. 🙂

    1. Best…party dress…ever.
Sharing this. I love your blog, I can’t physically frown when I’m there, I have to be smiling… 🙂
You’ll be a hit for sure.
      Simply…super. 😉

  35. Wowie! What an amazing lineup you’ve wrangled, Darcy. I can’t wait to kick back this weekend and soak up a bunch of these wonderful blogs. Thanks so much for inviting me to the party!

I blog over at http://www.BulgingButtons.wordpress.com where I wax poetic (or whine or rant or whatever I feel like) about this and that. The blog started as a way to keep me accountable as I battled the bulge, but over times it’s morphed into something much more (and, unfortunately, so have I). The bulge is alive and well, but so is the blog.

It’s become a forum to talk about body image, education (I’m a teacher), parenting, writing, and basically living and loving. It has lead me to all sorts of wonderful people and ideas.

Please stop by and poke around a little. I’d love it if you’d stay a while and say hello.

    cheers! BB

    1. Glad you could make it! I love your waxing poetic as much as I love your whining and ranting about life, weight, weight loss, weight gain, writing, teaching, life, love, your struggles, your triumphs. 🙂
Thank you for joining the party, the refreshment table is to your right, or mine, whatever, watch out for the dip, it’s been there awhile. 😉
Hope this day is kind to you, sweetie and thank you so much for the reblog. 🙂

  36. I’m fashionably late to the party here. Ok, maybe I’m just actually late. I meant to join in and was distracted by a shiny object. Ok, so maybe that was actually a big glass (ahem bottle) of wine.
I’ve been blogging this go around for almost a year, and have plenty of fun stories to keep you entertained. I write about whatever the mood strikes me, but a feature would probably be my horrible dating fails. It isn’t called http://myblogsimyboyfriend.wordpress.com because I’m in a functioning relationship. I try to look upon the shit storm that my life can sometimes be with humor and a little bit of sparkle. Check it out, I’d love for you all to stop by when you get the chance….

    1. Glad you could make it, there are a few shiny objects hanging about…sorry, what were we talking about? Oh yes, thank you for dropping by and sharing your blog information so others can enjoy your wacky and tart humour. When I read about your dating fails I not only enjoy them (sorry to rejoice in your misery, but somehow it seems right), but think, yes, I remember. lol
Is the vino here is as good as the stuff that distracted you? 😉
Hope this day is good to you, Hollie, come as visit as often as you’d like and if I stay at your blog too long and it gets awkward, no need to be subtle. 🙂

    1. Glad you could make it. I love quilts, I love looking at them, touching them, sleeping with them (did that sound weird?), anyway, the intricacies of them fascinate me, but I am hopelessly not good at them or most other crafts and art. So I live vicariously through the quilts of others. And thank you for sharing your view of the world (and Iowa) with all of us.
Enjoy the party, mingle – hope this day is good to you. 🙂
