Working on my new group, “Chronic Not Hopeless”, look for it on Facebook, Twitter, etc., so until then…

Hypochondriac.
Attention-seeking.
All in your head.

And the classic, “But you don’t look sick”.
Feel free to add more.
I think I’ve heard them all…but you never know.
Yup, I got 99 Problems and Fibromyalgia (Fibromialgia) is all of them…or at least it makes any problem much much much much worse.
I won’t bore you with all the symptoms:
Extreme, endless fatigue (I’ve never heard, “everyone gets tired”…sigh).
Extreme, endless all-over-body-pain 24/7/365 (“everyone has pain, especially as they get older” – how do you presume to know my pain or anyone else’s pain but yours?).
Dry eyes/mouth.
Hair loss.
IBS (Oh joy, love nothing more than talking about my bowels to: doctors, family, friends, strangers, interns, readers…”What did you want to be when you grow up?” “Constipated.”).
Dizziness.
Clumsiness.
Nausea.
Depression (tough not to be depressed by…

A great re-share, Donna. I think the group you’re making is a brilliant idea. Hugs on the wing!

Donna, nice to see your post today. Laughter is the best medicine to get through the day. It’s not easy for you with illness that works against smiles, laughter & pure enjoyment. Agree, the Fodmap for IBS works, but it’s no fun. Here’s hoping there are some good days ahead for you. And we get more posts to make us smile. 📚🎶 Christine

I clicked and read the original, but came here to comment – sigh – you have my full empathy! Simply because I dealt with chronic pain off and on for a long time – maybe it’s lupus, (they said), or Fibromyalgia, or……. In the end, I got better through long time spent with a Chinese DOM (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) who helped get the pain levels down enough I had the energy and willingness to make changes to my diet, my life (work/stress/leave the husband…LOL) etc., but wasn’t easy and I worked for her in her front office off and on for years and Pain is real and doesn’t matter who labels it ‘what’ it destroys one’s life, slowly and surely – – Here’s hoping you find the things that start helping with pain and hopefully, can start getting it under control – but yes, it sucks when those who are supposed to ‘help’ can’t agree on what it is, specifically and you become involved in basic experiments to see, “will this help?” stuff – I’m getting older now and so, I just sorta ‘put up’ with some pains, (when storms roll in, etc.) figuring, “It’s the price of the privilege of getting older” – but yes, once one has been through chronic pain that doesn’t seem to have a definitive cause that can be addressed/fixed – it just wears ya down – and it sucks, be time! KUDOS to you for finding awesome memes to make folks laugh, while (hopefully!) they get educated, too – and will learn how to not say, “Well you don’t look sick….” crap – I mean, walking as if each step burns your entire body from inside out and your hair is falling out, I’d hate to see what they think a ‘sick person’ looks like…..sigh – sigh – sigh – 😀
