Your Genius Is Showing!

“What’s misunderstood?”
“Nobody thinks I’m a genius.”

Social media can make people feel inadequate, but true genius is believing in yourself, not worrying about what others think, what others do, or what others have.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Genius, defined many ways by many people. To me, something or someone is genius if they give of themselves. Everyone is talking about the #TrumpShutdown of the U.S. government to build a wall between Mexico and the U.S., instead, why not talk about why so many people are living paycheck to paycheck? Talk about people not having enough for food, chemo drugs, etc. when the rich are buying multi-million dollar houses and apartments. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/Jewels, homes, cars, clothes – how can these mean more than lives? That’s the opposite of genius, even cruel. Celebrities, don’t peddle expensive drugs on TV and the internet, instead, pay for drugs for those in need. You’re making me regret liking TV and movies…https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/Canada has come up with a genius plan to build our own walls on the Canada–United States border (frontière Canada–États-Unis). This International Boundary (Frontière Internationale), is almost 9,000 kilometres (over 5,500 miles) long, including the border with Alaska (we can almost see Russia from our porch), the longest international border in the world between two countries.
Prime Minster Justin Trudeau (seen in the photo demonstrating what the wall might look like)

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/has commissioned esteemed Canadian Engineers, Scientists, and Zoologists to work with CUB (Canadian Union of Beavers) to put Canada’s National Symbol, the beaver to work.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

They will temporarily stop building dams and looking so dam cute to build us border walls to stop an invasion of American immigrants trying to come to Canada. Sorry. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2018/07/15/see-you-again/ Not Sorry.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

The Great Wall Of Canada will be eco-friendly using only reclaimed Canuck mud (from facials and mud wrestling) and wood from: basement paneling, square TV units, barns/farm houses (who needs farming anymore, we can just eat from restaurants, er, right?), driftwood, also, celebrities like Robert Pattinson, Matthew McConaughey (alright, alright, alright), Bradley Cooper, Ryan Gosling, Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Drake have agreed to donate their extensive toothpick collections (and to only interact with women, not girls).

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Of course, there will be Tim Hortons (Timmies) stores set up every 10 klicks, 1 kilometer is approximately 0.6 miles, so that’ll double-double our protection, eh.https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Every border crossing will have clean washrooms, contain a beer store (get yer 2-4 and gain some Molson Muscle, even while waiting to cross the border) as well as shops selling, among other things: Poutine, Butter Tarts, maple syrup, Nanaimo Bars, chocolate bars, flannel plaid shirts, a Mickey or six, Toques, pop, hockey jerseys, KD, and Canadian Tuxedos, eh.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Currency exchanges where immigrants can get their Loonies and Toonies, and Snowbirds can cash theirs in to spend their money in America.https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Crossing the Canadian-U.S. borders illegally will become impossible, we’ll have drones, dog sleds, ice skaters, toboggans, The Great White North Zamboni and Ski-Doo fleets, and Canadian police waiting to politely chase you down and say sorry for taking you into custody.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

The beavers aka National Symbols will work for a few simple demands:
1) Dental coverage;
2) Carnival and Fair favourite dessert, known as “beaver tails” must be renamed National Symbol Tails (Beaver is their Colonial name);
3) The Canadian government is too pay for limited series reunion of Bob and Doug Mckenzie on Netflix. Take off eh, you hosers! https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/04/28/well-cream-you-with-our-tim-hortons-donuts-you-hosers/

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

These industrious National Symbols are willing to work night and day, in the snow and rain, to help peace-loving Canadians avoid any further kerfuffles with our Southern neighbours. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2018/08/17/all-were-asking-is-for-a-little-respect/https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/We’d offer our busy little workers (legally of course) to the U.S., but we know America has its heart set on a ‘big beautiful concrete wall’ or steel slates, or using American Bald Eagles to patrol the border, swooping down to pick up immigrants and return them to their homeland. So you do you, America, simple as A to Zed.https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Maybe the best definition of Genius – enough for all, equality for all, safety for all, hope for all, love for all.

George Bernard Shaw reminded us,“The most tragic thing in the world is a man of genius who is not a man of honor.”  Especially an alleged Very Stable Genius.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

Spongebob Squarepants told Patrick Star his genius was showing, Patrick being Patrick was confused and thought Spongebob was talking about something a bit further South than his brain. https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants died (age 57, ALS) in 2018 soon after another cartoon genius, Stan LeeFYI, Lee was in the same Army division in WWII with: Charles Addams, Frank Capra, William Saroyan and Theodore Geisel aka Dr. Seuss, how cool is that? Both Lee and Hillenburg helped children envision all futures and let us adults keep adulting while glorying in the joy and wonder of childhood.

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/We’re so lucky, they are gone, but we are left with astonishing gifts – swimming in Bikini Bottom and finding truth, justice, and honour with: X-Men, Groot (I Am Groot), Deadpool, Black Panther, Thor, Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy https://yadadarcyyada.com/2017/06/02/nobody-puts-bloggers-in-a-corner/, Spiderman, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Avengershttps://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/ https://yadadarcyyada.com/2015/05/02/the-avengers-age-of-oldtron/  Punisher, Wolverine, Black Widow, Loki, Fantastic Four, Ant-Man, Captain America, Iron Man https://yadadarcyyada.com/2014/03/28/iron-man/ hmmm, truth, justice, honour – things in short supply in the ‘real world’. OMG, maybe Trump thinks he’s Tony Starkgenius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist and he’s actually Thanos (seriously dude, you have the ability to create not just destroy, use your powers for good).

https://yadadarcyyada.com/2019/01/14/your-genius-is-showing/

If someone tells you, Your Genius is Showing, don’t cover it up, don’t try to hide it…show it off, share it. Do you have to be a famous artist, writer, musician, doctor, lawyer, politician, reality star, astrophysicist (enjoying Project Blue Book so far), astronaut, athlete, actor/actress to be a genius? No. You don’t have to be a famous anything, just be kind, caring, loving, giving, and honest, the world needs way, way, way more of those things. Did I mention way more?

  1. Donna, you are my kind of genius! And your genius has been showing since the moment I “met” you.
“true genius is believing in yourself, not worrying about what others think, what others do, or what others have.” You could not have said it better. Perfect.
Now if somebody would just evict the squatter in the Oval Office, my day would be made.
    Mega hugs, my friend!

    1. Takes one to know one, dear Teagan, I’m thankful every single day that we “met”. 🙂
As a Canadian we’ve got our pretenders squatting in office right now too, reeking havoc and this is our Federal election year and I’m truly scared to see what the bad guys do to steal the crown so to speak. All we can do is stay strong and keep fighting.

  2. Hello. Happy New Year. I’m just back from pondering and reflecting (take a few minutes) on your latest insightful, generally full of cool beans visuals, quirky, and neural cell building posts. As usual, it’s well…you said it…genius. Thanks for sharing!!!

Perhaps … happy new year and here’s to more exposed ungies…

  4. Always a delight to see your genius show up. I wish I still had hope that things would get better, that people wouldn’t be crushed and starved by the greedy rich. I wish that I thought that people being nice to each other would matter, or make any difference in the scheme of things. I wish a lot of things but what I see just shows me that wishes don’t always come true.

    1. I think in time, the internet will become the great equalizer, secrets, lies, greed, these things live in the shadows and as they’re forced out into the glow of computers, phones, etc., I think things will change, slowly ever slowly, but I remain hopeful. Then again, I’ve been wrong before…and often. 😉
Hope this week brings you some peace and childlike joy. 🙂

  5. Donna! What hath you wrought? I reason for thought? I think you have caught – and brought, geniousity for naught. However, you have taught – us not to be fraught, of dancing with joy instead of distraught – – – and like one genius said;

I loved this post and your patience in generating it – – – and its morphed thought generator.

  6. Hello Dear, Sweet, Kind, Loving Crazy GENIUS.How much sense yo make when you tell us what real genius is. How much sense when you tell us how we should behave. I wonder if it’s time for Canada to invade the US and capture the Fat Controller for his rudeness to the Canadian Premier. Maybe you could just build a wall round him somewhere isolated hen Mr Trudeau can declare the US under new management. You can be his new Minister of Kindness and kick a few butts into shape. You’re as adorable as always

    1. We’ve got a battle ahead to hold onto our dear Prime Minister, my friend, so I don’t know if we have time for an invasion, it is a Federal election year and Justin has a fight on his hands here at home. Liars, cads, scum abound and we must keep scrubbing the dirt away, it’s tiring.
The wall around Trump might be a plan, perhaps someone is already secretly weaving it out of his ‘hair’. 😉
Thank you for dropping by, dearest David, you always know exactly what to say to make me smile. 🙂
Hope all is well (all things considered, you have your own problems on that side of The Pond) with you and yours. 🙂

  8. Haha! This is fantastic satire. I loved every word of it.

Something you said about ordinary people and genius really struck a chord with me. I know a woman with two disabled children and SHE is a genius, the way she tackles each day and advocates for her children. There will be no medals for her, or social media praise, but she does it anyway. And she makes it look easy.

    1. Yes, that’s what I’m talking about, genius is all around us and we should never be afraid to show it, there may not be medals, awards, the spotlight, but we know what we do. 🙂
Thanks for dropping by and keep showing off that genius! 😉

      2. We need to make it easier to ‘temporarily’ suspend a president’s powers when he’s under investigation for treason. In fact, if the evidence shows trump directly conspired with Putin to steal the 2016 election we should have the election and all of Trump’s legislation and appointments annulled.

        Like

      3. Yes, I agree. When you’re being investigated you shouldn’t get to run a country, withdraw troops, get rid of nuclear treaties, put children in cages, etc. I think they should definitely do that, after all, the election was a fraud.

      4. I feel like the country is in a state of suspended animation. The President is not only incompetent but a danger to the rest of the world and he remains in office. America will spend the rest of 21st Century trying to convince our allies to forgive us for being idiots.

      5. We’re in the upside down where a confessed rapist who is dismantling our defenses because he visibly compromised by our worst enemy is discussed as a viable by the press as a viable candidate for President in 2020. It’s absolutely appalling.

      6. After we lock him up if Trump escapes just when we think we’re safe, I’ll look for where God hid the remote. 🙂 BTW, I don’t know the details the Prime Minister’s scandal but speaking as a person’s whose government was destroyed by stupid bullshit from the Russian government, beware the sudden scandal that pops up from nowhere and suddenly becomes an ongoing ‘trending’ topic that obscures real news and real policy efforts. Canada is under attack. Just sayin.

      7. I know all about this alleged ‘scandal’ and what a surprise, the Conservative/Reform/Alliance Coalition is behind it. We’ve been under attack for a long time, I thought we’d turned a corner by choosing ‘sunny ways’ but looks like we’re right back in the right (aka wrong) corner…Why does the refrain, “Hell is empty and all the devils are here” keep running through my head, hmmm, Shakespeare knew what he was talking about. We’re in the same boat now and there’s a lot of leaks, maybe one will actually help. 😉

      8. It’s all a game, it’s sad, I guess watching politics these days explains why so many people are still falling for scams, hoaxes, catfishes, etc. I don’t know who really said there’s a sucker born every minute, but they got that 100% correct.

      9. The U.S. President threatens to put a hit on his own people if they try to hold him accountable to the laws he represents, and 33% of America define THAT as making America Great. It’s absurd and a reflection of the degree to which Americans have passively accepted cheating, stealing and lying as a normal part of business and politics.

      10. It’s an old trick, find people who are open/vulnerable to suggestion, tell them what they want to hear and then run with it. This goes way back, tell big lies, keep repeating over and over. And some people probably don’t believe anymore but they’re too ashamed to admit what they did. Own it, learn from it.

      11. It’s a nightmare. I spoke with a friend who lives in Toronto, I asked about Trudeau’s scandal, and he seemed sure it was legit; the way he explains it the liberal party in Canada is corrupt and responsible for everything wrong with politics, which is what people here said about Clinton and what people in the UK said about the EU. Putin is taking our governments down one by one; but if you ask people why their country is falling apart; his incessant gaslighting is the last thing they think of.

      12. Oh yeah, people are being brainwashed big-time and most of them don’t even know what it’s about, the one guy the ‘news (and I use the term loosely) actually said they should have to release the emails (HUH?!?). Putin has Canada and the U.S. so he’s got North America and lots of other parts of the world – world domination without a shot fired, all he needed was people who want to hear gossip instead of facts.

      13. To see the effect of gaslighting on the general public is a revelation. For me, the question is, why is it working? How is it possible for educated adults to deny what they can see with their own eyes? Putin is like an artist of crime: he leaves his signature on all his works. People know they’re lying even as they repeat his lies.

  9. Actor Jim Carrey, I believe he is Canadien, said he wanted to leave the United States because he disagrees with the political stuff here, and so many useless Hollywood people said the same. Well, they are still here, poisoning our lives with their venom, and still shovel money their industry produces. Maybe the Canadian government can build the wall at the Canadian border with all the Hollywood actors’ money. Perhaps that will shut them up. Great post about being geniuses,

    1. We’ll have to agree to disagree, I think people are allowed to express their opinions and I feel enriched by freedom of expression, not poisoned. There does seem to be a lot of venom expressed here, I’m always confused when people wish to shut others up simply because they’re expressing opinions they don’t agree with or don’t confirm their own bias. I love to hear other points of view, other thoughts, even ones that are different than mine, I feel that’s how I learn. Criticism without solutions is just complaining and that’s passive and has never fixed anything.
Yes, we can proudly say Canada made Jim Carrey as Jim Carrey as he is lol He’s welcome back any old time, but if Hollywood loses all it’s former Canucks, it will seem pretty lonely, but we’d love to have them. 😉
All are welcome here, even if they don’t say what we want them to say. 🙂
Thanks for dropping by, I hope you can find some peace and relaxation, sounds like you need some of both. 🙂

      1. No venom from me Donna, don’t get me wrong. I was reporting what Hollywood actors say about this country which made them ultra millionaires and don’t do anything to help others, they just run their mouth. They are disgraceful and disrespectful towards their fans and the very same land that made their fortune. That’s all and BTW, I have boycotted most of them. You are right, we have to agree to disagree. I don’t agree with them, so I got rid of them.
As far as peace and relaxation, I am the one telling people how to eliminate nuisance, so they can have peace and relaxation. No harm done, create a great weekend.
