So Come Join Us…Under The Dome

How was Under The Dome renewed for a second season?

It’s hard to believe this awesome show is coming back. Maybe I’ll believe it when I see it.

Also, hard to believe that Stephen King is writing the first episode of the second season.

Or that Stephen King is going to have a cameo in the first episode of the second season.

Or that this cool show is the most popular scripted summer show in over 20 years.

Consider this horrifying show where, gasp, there’s no internet, no cell phones, no phones of any kind, no electricity, no malls, and eventually no cars when they run out of gas. And they’re running out of food. It’s like Gilligan’s Island but under a dome and not on an island so actually not that similar, nevermind. On the bright side, at least there aren’t any zombies…yet.

When we last left Chester’s Mill there were a lot of cliff-hangers and a lot of unanswered questions.
Who will rise to face the challenges?
Who will falter?
Who will fall?
Who will crack and go crazy?

Who’s responsible for the Dome?

Can things get in or through the Dome…or out?

Does the Dome know it creeps humans out to have their departed come back, even though they’re really just Domeghosts?

Is the Dome there to help or hurt the people of Chester’s Mill?

And why Chester’s Mill, Maine? Well, we know the Maine part, it’s Stephen King.

Will they give Junior (Alexander Koch) more guns and why?

Will Big Jim (Dean Norris) get some parenting lessons?

When will Joe (Colin Ford) realize Norrie (Mackenzie Lintz) is only with him because they’re Under The Dome? Shhhh!

Will Barbie (Mike Vogel) be hanged? Nooooo!

Can Julia (Rachelle Lefebvre) still get enough hair products Under The Dome?

Will Dodee (Jolene Purdy) return as a Domeghost? What’s with Phil (Nicholas Strong) anyway?

Will Linda (Natalie Martinez) be able to maintain law and order?

Who knew Angie (Britt Robertson) would be the cool one?

What will Karla Crome, Eddie Cahill, and more add? Will we watch The Simpsons Movie just cause they’re also under a dome while we’re waiting for Under The Dome to return? And what about the butterflies?

Who will live? Who will die? And how many times can I write Dome in the same post?

So if you somehow missed Season 1 of Under The Dome…or missed my awesome post (see embedded link to Pink Stars Are Falling in Lines in a blatant act of shameless self-promotion); then you can catch those and then the recap, Under The Dome: Inside Chester’s Mill tonight, June 23 at various times on CBS affiliates, before all our questions are answered as Season 2 premeries on June 30 at 10 p.m. Oh who am I kidding, there will probably be even more questions – how delicious!

One way or another, this show’s getting more magnetic!

So come join us…Under The Dome.

Very me

  1. I live in Maine, so it’s been a little inconvenient having to deal with the dome being down for them to shoot Season 2, but you get used to it after a while.

I read the book after watching Season 1 and thought it was great. Mr. King lives about 2 miles away from me, and I think my neighbor did an excellent job on this one…

    1. Why do I want to break into a creepy rendition of It’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood now? I’m really enjoyed Season 1 so I can’t wait for next week. Sorry about the Dome, but I think it’s worth it. 😉

      1. Maybe you could bring some spray paint and put a few Xs on the side, just so you know where you Stand… 😉 Hope you didn’t injure yourself too badly. 🙂

  2. I avoided this because I was afraid it would be like “The Stand”, with a lot of characters cut for sake of plot and to cut down on confusion.

Should I pretend that I have not read the story multiple times already? Will I be completely mad over it?

    1. I don’t know about completely mad, but I’m really enjoying it. The series is different from the book, if that helps you decide. They’re cutting characters and adding others, it’s a good blend so far.

  3. I enjoyed series one. However, this looks like the sort of thing which will keep going until the ratings fall, being written with no clear ending in sight. Once the ratings fall it will be unceremoniously cancelled and we’ll never find out what it’s all about 😦

    Colour me pessimistic, but…

  4. So Come Join Us…Under The Dome
This sounds like such a great show that I haven’t watched. And I love Stephen King.
So it’s one of those shows that I will have to watch on CBS affiliaties….

      1. Yeah it’s brilliant. I had the whole of Season 1 to watch one night I couldn’t sleep…The ending was “YOU CAN’T HANG HIM” Thankfully The next 5 episodes were there to watch 😀

      2. While I knew they weren’t going to kill Barbie, well, pretty sure, we had to wait months and months until the next season to know for sure. But as Oscar Wilde said, “The suspense is terrible. I hope it lasts.”. 🙂

      3. I had to wait like 20 minutes to find out 😀
Strange that Barbie and the other dude are outside the dome and in the city the girl who came back to life is from..

        Should get good…
Think there be a season 3?

      4. I don’t know, it’s doing well, it should get a 3rd, but I’ve thought that of others shows. Barbie is from Zenith too; Sam, Pauline and Lyle are just there. I’m not sure where the series is going, it’s so very different from the book…should be fun to find out.

      5. OH DON’T RUIN IT FOR ME 😀
I know it was Stephen King book right?
It was like Lost, I got lost! The people on the Island were in cities and at home..First 2 seasons were good then they ruined it …Sopranos! Now we are talking Epic Tellybox stuff

      6. I haven’t given you any spoilers…yet. I think we’re on the same place in the series.
Yes, I was lost during most of Lost, and I still worry about the polar bear.
The Sopranos was awesome, but I’m still not sure about the ending.
A lot of series start off well, part of the problem is the writers, etc. move on to other new series.
Yes, it’s a Stephen King book, a fairly hefty one at over a 1000 pages. Much darker than the series. Much.

      7. Yes, I worry about him. 😉 I wouldn’t say the book was better, just different; darker, grittier, they’ve cleaned it up for TV and changed quite a bit. Keeps us guessing.
