christmas127Which version of this Christmas classic do you enjoy?

The 1992 cartoon narrated by Walter Matthau?

The Jim Carrey version? Despite the pan by critics I thought it was hilarious.grinch1So instead of hating the commercialism of Christmas, realize that’s only the part of it promoted by corporations, stores, etc. to make money. Christmas can still be a wonderful time, as long as you don’t get caught up in the stupidity and find joy it what you can. I doubt there’s much I can say that dear Dr. Seuss hasn’t already said.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

By Dr. Seusschrisstmas131Every Who Down in Whoville Liked Christmas a lot…
But the Grinch,Who lived just north of Whoville, Did NOT!
The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be his head wasn’t screwed on just right.
It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all,
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.
Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!”
“It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.”
“Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
And what happened then? Well…in Whoville they say,
That the Grinchs small heart Grew three sizes that day!
And the minute his heart didn’t feel quite so tight,
He whizzed with his load through the bright morning light,
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he, HE HIMSELF! The Grinch carved the roast beast!

Very me

I love the 1966 cartoon narrated by Bois Karloff, and the 1992 cartoon narrated by Walter Matthaw. And the Jim Carrey versions is great too! I just love the Grinch and he’s great in all of those features!
