THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB

jabc4OK, the book was way better than the movie despite the great cast.

Supposed to be showing that they joined The Jane Austen Book Club searching for something, but came across as really, really whiny.

None had really significant problems, just what they perceived as issues.

You couldn’t feel the inner dynamics of the group – the roots that formed, the personalities crackling and meshing, and the strength that flowed between whoever needed it most at the time.

Instead they came across as self-indulgent, narcissistic, and histrionic. jab1Total under-utilization of Hugh Dancy, Kathy Baker, and Amy Brenneman.

Parts of the movie were good, but I wish the characters had real depth and authenticity, as they did in the book.
