Happy Thanksgiving!

Canada’s Thanksgiving is in October, but I figure we should try to have gratitude, or find something to be thankful for each and every day.

1.  You can easily become what lives in your mind each day. Be very careful who you let move in and be thankful for the good tenants.

2. Life gives you second chances, sometimes third, fourth or 80th. Recognize and appreciate the chance or it wasn’t really another chance at all.

3. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they react to:
– a kitten’s claws on their shirt,
– a child throwing up on their shoes,
– how they support the dreams of others.

4. Even when your days are filled with pain, try not to be one…I doubt I always succeed.

5. You’ll miss everyone you know in some way when they’re gone; even the ones you think you won’t.

6. You might forget exactly what someone said or did, those things fade or change over time, but your heart and mind remember if they made you feel good or bad or sad or scared or whatever.

7. You don’t have to have a lot to be thankful, you just have to be thankful for what you have.

8. You can love difficult people, just be aware they might not be loving you in return. As long as you’re not straining your ‘love wallet’, go for it

9. No matter what happens, or how bad something seems, there will be a tomorrow and if there isn’t, I guess you won’t know.

10. The biggest thing I’ve ever learned?  I have a lot to be thankful for and still have a whole heap more to learn.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends and neighbours…and to everyone else, I hope you can find things to be thankful for, each and every day.

And don’t forget, The Muppets Holiday Special with Lady Gaga (I always suspected she was a Muppet).

And of course, A Charlie Brown Thanksgivingthanks5

Enjoy the turkey and football. 😉

  1. Lol! The Lady Gaga remark made me laugh! I think I’m gonna need to check out the Muppets tonight if I remember. This is a wonderful post…it reminds me to continue feeling gratitude no matter what day it is. Hope you had a wonderful day full of gratitude (even though today isn’t Thanksgiving in Canada–I didn’t know that until now, hehe)!
    Jenn xx

  2. Great post – have some turkey anyway. I have it a few time during the year… everyone in the family chooses it for the birthday dinner 🙂 it’s that or roast pork. Mum’s just the chief cook lol. Susan x

I always wish everybody to have a Happy Thanksgiving. In some ways it’s better than Christmas because your here to thank your family and friends.
