Sure Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has managed to get lots of air time on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Saturday Night Live, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy Fallon, Colbert Report, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Rick Mercer Report and many more, but last night he even showed up on Talking Dead, AMC‘s Sunday night Walking Dead aftershow.
While host Chris Hardwick and guests David Morrissey (The Governor) and Ike Barinholtz chatted about The Walking Dead one of the callers, from Toronto incited all kinds of Mayor and Rob Ford jokes, the best, when Hardwick said he thought the caller was going to ask if The Governor could be Toronto‘s new Mayor and Morrissey quipped, It would be a step up.
Ford still has diehard supporters who think it’s fine for the Mayor of Toronto to be a crack smoking, (mind you he says he only does it during drunken stupors) driving-while-drunk-lewd-crude-and-criminally-involved guy as long as he appears to be fiscally responsible.
This is an interesting thought process. I would also like to know if his books are being audited and why he hasn’t been arrested, oh that’s right, he’s Mayor, that’s just for us common folk.
I find the people expressing sympathy for him fascinating. The poor man, what stress he and his family must be under. I imagine so. Then again, they wouldn’t be under that stress if he hadn’t done everything he’s done and then covered it up. Poor little lamb.
On a more human note, condolences to Chris Hardwick and his family on the loss of his dad, Billy Hardwick (Hall of Fame Bowler). While Hardwick did the show last night, he ended it with a touching and very sweet tribute to his Dad.
